Hobbywing makes great products. The computer software could use a bit of work, but this speed control is solid and reliable. The only negative is that the current sensor isn't very accurate. It is good enough to get your flights close to your target capacity, but every flight I've flown has been off by 5-10% But for the price, I consider that a minor gripe.
I purchased a Hobbywing platinum pro 120a V4 ESC from Helidirect. I received the ESC in less then 24 hours even though I ordered it late in the afternoon. I do live only one state away but the fast shipping is absolutely amazing, like they’re just waiting to run down. I’ll grab that product and ship it out. very much appreciated. have a wing worked flawless for my application and I’m very happy with it. Highly recommended seller incredibly fast shipping.
This is the perfect budget ESC for larger aircraft that will run on 6S or less.
Doesn't work with the program card or otherwise would have rated it higher
Great ESC for the money
HobbyWing Platinum PRO V4 120A ESC (3S-6S) - 30203401
Runs much cooler compares to my ICE2 HV80 on my Trex600EPro
Test flew it today in a SAB raw 580 on 6s. The governor is rock solid using the Hobbywing telemetry sensor to verify headspeeds on a Futaba 16IS. Outside temps were right around 102 and the highest ESC temperatures were right at 130F. There were no issues for three flights then it was time to seek cooler surroundings for the day.
Changed from an old castle to to hobbywing. What performance difference in my old 550E
